A Wedding at Water's Edge Resort and Spa

Our relationship with this bride's family goes back to her elementary school days when we had done a "Mother and Daughter" portrait  of Mel and her mom Marlene.  We also photographed her for her senior portrait. Three weeks before Mel & Mike's wedding we got a call from them that made us glow.  They were getting married.  What was suppose to have been a desination wedding ended up being a small dinner affair at Water's Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook, CT. We had had dinner plans with friends but decided their wedding was just too important to miss.

The main reason they decided on Water's Edge, was because of the beach  and the possibilities of some beautiful images.  Well, that day it was suppose to rain later in the afternoon.  We were supposed to have done the formals before hand and the romantic scenic photographs after the ceremony.  My assistant, Rick, and I arrived early and the wind was blowing.  It was cold but both families were troupers. We all decided to do the beach portraits first, before the ceremony so we would have been assured of some good images.  It is a good thing that we did since immediately after the ceremony it began to pour.

From Mel & Mike:

Hello Stella and Marty!!
I hope you are both having a sunny and stress-free Friday!  I just wanted to tell you both how much Mike and I absolutely LOVE the portraits, LOVE our album and LOVE all the other photographs.  The entire experience - working with you both has been a pleasure and we will always look back at our beautiful pieces of artwork with fond memories of our special day.  Our own memories - and those we made with Marty from the banks of the Connecticut River to the windy shores of the Long Island Sound.  And Stella, we appreciate all of your advice, especially with creating our fabulous album!
My parents are in awe of their portrait and our album as well.  We are all so lucky to have met, way back in 1985!  And since then I know you have brought joy to my parents every day as they look at their portraits in the living room.  Thank you for that - and to bringing joy to Mike and I every day as we look at our new portrait!

Hope to see you both soon!
Mel and Mike

Thanks Mel and Mike.

Saturday, we had the pleasure of photographing Allie's Bat Mitzvah.  What a sweet child. We have been photographing Bar and Bat Mitzvahs and portraits  of the extended family since the days their parents were married. great family. It was also a kick working with Evan Taback and Boppers Entertainment.  Stelcar has been photographing events for his family since his Bar Mitzvah.

This Saturday evening Marty and I attended a wonderful birthday celebration for the
famous (or shall I say “infamous”) Johnny Rozz of Sound Spectrum Entertainment in Wallingford, CT.  Johnny was inducted into the DJ Hall  of  Fame and is a fabulous DJ, businessman  and human being.  We have been photographing social events with
John for more than twenty years and have always enjoyed working together.  He and Anthony have been recommending Stelcar Photography for a long time.  It’s always rewarding to work with vendors who have similar goals.  To do the best for their clients and help make their day go smoothly.
The party had lots of food, booze,  bands and singers from all over.  We ate, drank and generally had a “ball”.   Chuck and Jen Maring from New York, as well as Wallingford are old friends from CPPA, as we danced and partied together.
