What a pleasure it was photographing this wedding. Besides the fact that Valerie and Ben came to our backyard to do a love story last year and we really got to know them, we knew all of Valerie's parents, Sharon and Jeff's friends since we are one of them. What a great day it was!!
Sydney is the eldest daughter of Amy and Billy. We had photographed Amy's Bat Mitzvah many years ago. Amy's two sisters, Nancy and Michel were also photographed by Stelcar. Michelle's Wedding to Andrew were photographed by Stelcar. So, it comes as no surprise that it was like "Old Home Week" at Sydney's Bat Mitzvah. The ceremony was conducted at Emanuel Synagogue in West Hartford and the beautiful reception was held at Hop Meadow Country Club in Simsbury, CT.
What a great couple. With 20 in their wedding party one might think that it would have been difficult to manage a group that large. all were cooperative and fun to be with. The rain, however, just didn't stop. The ceremony was in a tent at the beautiful Hillstead Museum in Farmington, CT and the reception was perfectly orchestrated by the Hartford Downtown Marriott. You might want to also check our their love story done a Trinity College.
Debbie & Brian’s Wedding - What a wonderful wedding. The families were just super all having a very active time. Brian and Debbie are the nicest of people and we wish them all of the best. Enjoy
It is complimentary to be chosen from all of the photographers in the Hartford area to make photographs of the Hartford skyline for a new website called thecityofhartford.com. If you go on the cite, you will fine that on the first page at the top are these four images that change when the nighttime changes to sunrise and then to daytime and then to sunset. It meant going to the East Hartford boat launch to get these images at least four times. During this rainy spring and summer the skies were not always picturesque, a real understatement. The daylight image was also included in the best of series that can be located at the top if you select view other cities. Enjoy!

Stelcar Photography opened in 1976 with three simple goals that husband and wife team Marty and Stella Seefer hold to steadfastly today: Capture moments and people as honestly and beautifully as possible, treat customers with attentive respect and kindness, and always create work they would display in their own home.
More than 30 years after they opened their doors, they are proud to be one of the premier wedding, portrait, HS Senior and event photography studios in New England thanks to their commitment to excellence and professionalism. Working out of a turn-of-the century Victorian in East Hartford, the Seefers seamlessly bring together technical expertise and artistic vision to create photographs that capture the unspoken – the essence of each person, each relationship, each event.
Stelcar Photography recognizes that they honorably serve their clients when they listen to what they want, invest time to discover who they are, and deliver brilliant, high-quality images that reflect the very best of people. They look forward to working with you as a trusted partner and exceeding your expectations.
Who We Are:
Marty Seefer started capturing images as a master’s degree candidate at the University of Connecticut. Photography was part of his coursework in Instructional Technology, but it quickly became much more. His eye for seeing people and his talent in the darkroom soon found him fielding requests to photograph weddings, portraits and bar/bat mitzvahs. In 1981, after several years in the Wethersfield School System, he left teaching to focus solely on photography.
Marty received certification from the Professional Photographers of America in 1984, and in 1988 the group bestowed upon him the distinction of Master of Photography. He was named a Photographic Craftsman by the same organization in 1994 for sharing his expertise as a lecturer at regional and national venues. His work has received high honors from both Kodak and Fuji, solidifying his reputation as a master of composition, lighting and posing. Several of his pieces have been featured in the PPA Loan Collection and shown by the World Council of Professional Photographers.
In 2001, Marty authored “The Art of Bridal Photography” which continues to be a reference for professional photographers throughout the world.
Stella Seefer’s title of Business Manager doesn’t do justice to the role she plays. The first point of contact for those interested in working with Stelcar Photography, Stella then meets with clients to determine schedules and assist with package planning and clothing consultations. After the event, clients count on Stella’s keen eye to help them select photos and create albums that tell their stories.
Her interaction with brides and grooms and families compliments Marty’s and rounds out the personal, customized service Stelcar Photography is known for. It is that active hands-on approach that transforms a photography session into an “experience” unique to each individual and family.
